Other Prohibited Content
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Any material that, in our judgment, is obscene, threatening, illegal or in violation of our Terms of Service or this AUP may be removed from our servers or otherwise disabled, with or without notice.
Unacceptable Resource Usage
You may not
· Use twenty-five percent (25%) or more of our system resources for longer than ninety (90) seconds at a time. Activities that could cause such excessive use include, but are not limited to, CGI scripts, FTP, PHP and HTTP processes. · Run stand-alone, unattended server-side processes at any time on the server. This includes all daemons, such as IRCD. · Run any type of web spider or indexer on shared servers. · Run any software that interfaces with an IRC (Internet Relay Chat) network. · Run any BitTorrent application, tracker or client. You may link to lawful torrents hosted elsewhere, but may not host or store them on our shared servers. · Participate in any file-sharing or peer-to-peer activities. · Run any game servers such as Counter-Strike, PUBG, Minecraft or similar. · Run cron jobs with intervals of less than fifteen (15) minutes. · Run any MySQL queries that take longer than fifteen (15) seconds. MySQL tables should be appropriately indexed. · Include files via URL rather than local path when using PHP include functions. Instead of including “”, use “include.php”. · Force HTML files to be parsed for server-side code (such as PHP or SHTML), as this increases resource usage.
Inodes
The use of more than two hundred and fifty thousand (250,000) inodes on any shared or reseller account may result in a warning and, if no action is taken to reduce usage, suspension of the account. Accounts exceeding one hundred thousand (100,000) inodes will be automatically excluded from our backup system to avoid over-usage; databases may still be backed up as a courtesy at our sole discretion. Every file on your account (a web page, image, email, etc.) consumes one (1) inode. Accounts that constantly create and delete large numbers of files, hold hundreds of thousands of files, or cause file system damage may be flagged for review and/or suspension. The most common cause of excessive inode usage is a catch-all email address left enabled while the primary mailbox goes unchecked, allowing tens of thousands of messages to accumulate. To disable your default mailbox, log in to cPanel, select “Email”, then “Default Address”, then “Set Default Address”, and enter: :fail: No such user here.
Zero Tolerance Spam Policy
We take a zero tolerance stance against unsolicited email, bulk emailing and spam, in line with the provisions of PECA relating to unsolicited communications. “Safe lists”, purchased lists and the sale of lists will be treated as spam. We may terminate the account of any User who sends spam, with or without notice. Websites advertised via spam (“spamvertised”) may not be hosted on our servers. This includes spam sent via SMS, WhatsApp, fax, telephone, postal mail, email, instant messaging or newsgroups. No organisation or entity listed in the Register of Known Spam Operations (ROKSO) may be hosted on our servers. Any account that results in our IP space being blacklisted will be immediately suspended and/or terminated. PrismHost reserves the right to require changes to, or to disable, any website, account, database or other component that does not comply with our policies, and to make any such modifications in an emergency as we deem necessary at our sole discretion. PrismHost reserves the right to charge the holder of any account used to send unsolicited email a clean-up fee, together with any charges incurred for blacklist removal, at our sole discretion. As a web host, PrismHost is an intermediary and not the publisher of User content, and we are not in a position to investigate the veracity of individual defamation claims. Our policy is not to remove allegedly defamatory material unless it has been determined to be defamatory by a court of competent jurisdiction in Pakistan, as evidenced by a court order, or unless we receive a lawful blocking or removal direction from the PTA or another competent authority. In any such case, we will disable access to the material in question. Where a Pakistani court has issued an injunction against specified content, we will comply and remove or disable access to that content.
