Describe the website first
A small portfolio and a busy store have different needs. Write down the application, expected visitors, storage, email requirements and any background processes. Use that list when comparing plans.
Look beyond the headline price
Check billing periods, renewal rates, tax and optional licences. A low introductory rate is not the same as the long-term cost. Ask for the final invoice terms before committing.
Compare resource limits
Website count does not describe the whole service. Review storage, transfer, CPU, memory and concurrency limits where applicable. Ask what happens if your usage increases.
Understand who manages what
Hosting infrastructure, server administration and application maintenance are different tasks. Agree who patches software, checks backups and responds to problems.
Plan the move
Before migration, decide who transfers files and databases, how the new site is tested and when DNS changes will be made. Keep the previous hosting available until the transition has been checked.
